There was this thing back home called Bandstocks that small bands could use to raise money for albums. Basically you ask fans to invest in the album - like twenty bucks or something - and then they get the album free when it comes out. It's pretty much like buying the album in advance. A lot of bands I knew did it and it seemed to work. You can do some gimmicks, too, like have an 'investors' newsletter or private shows or something, make the fans feel like their involved.

Either that or a benefit concert, maybe?

Just some ideas, I guess. I don't have too much experience with the money side of things. My friend Joseph was recording our album back home and he did it for free.
