I guess understand why some people find today annoying. But I like it. Why wouldn't I want to see my old friends and meet some new people. Plus, I've never had anyone show up from home, which is...sorta good, sorta not.

[Curt shrugs. He holds up a gnarled stick.]

Anyway, at the risk of sounding morbid or metaphysical, I'm looking for Death-with-a-capital-D, who should recognize this branch came from and of course I'm hoping to see the one who gave it to me the last time we had one of these things. So I'll be sitting on the steps of building 10 if anyone wants to say hi.

[Oh. That's a much cooler name. And much cooler... everything else.]

Uh... Sunnydale, California, originally. And then Mexico, briefly, and then Sunnydale again, but that's gone now. Sunnydale, I mean, obviously, not Mexico. So uh, more recently Italy. I mean, I came here from Italy.

Oh, cool. Italy's nice, but I didn't get to spend much time there.

Yeah, it's pretty nice. Lots of good-- ...uh, scenery?

Gone as in gone gone, doesn't exist anymore. There's a big hole in the ground where it used to be on the map.

Yeah, it's... kind of a long story. Not a pretty one.

I'm from, uh... it was 12th February, 2009 before I showed up here.

Oh. That general time period--not like, the 12th of February, specifically--seems pretty popular around here, but I belong in 1975. I keep sorta trying to figure out things about the future, only I don't know if there's a point when it seems like slightly different worlds and stuff.

Well rock music's kind of my thing, but I was also wondering if there was some kind of really cool new kind of music.

Uh, new prog metal is pretty cool. And like, alternative stuff. That only started a little after your time though.

Okay. Any names to look out for? [Curt has plenty of people he could ask about music, including his aspiring DJ roommate, but he may as well make conversation. And Andrew doesn't have the look of someone who listens to the kind of music he likes, but you really never know.]

S-second. The first was uh, not that long ago. In my timeline, anyway.

I've lived through more than one apocalypse and I summon demons and I used to be a supervillain and now I'm on a path of redemption and I train girls with super-powers for a living.

[Andrew figures either that will sound impressive, or he'll think he's joking.]

Okay...that might be the weirdest thing I've ever heard anyone claim. I've heard some weird stories, so I'm not saying I don't believe you, but damn.
