This is getting pretty long and sort of boring for an acid trip--I mean, yeah, it's pretty weird, but not that weird--so I guess I'm down the fucking rabbit hole or whatever.  I'm Curt Wild.

Someone who goes by that very name. Not that it's a big deal, or anything. But there's not anyone I can think of that I really want to run into.

[with some forced cheer] Look at it this way, though! You have a whole crazy-alternate-dimension's worth of people to meet, and odds're good you'll find at least a few people here you won't mind running into.

[He tries to shake off the dark mood.] Point is, I needed a fresh start and I guess this is as fresh as they come. And I like meeting new people.

Then you're definitely in the right place. The City's not nearly as bad as some people say it is. [pause] I mean, some of the curses can be rough, but every place has a downside.

[She gives this some thought, popping lasagna into the small oven.]

I don't know. I've heard of some pretty awful ones--zombies, things like that--but I've only been here for... sevens, at the very worst.

I guess sevens are something you can learn to live with. I think I've had a couple nines, and that was without anything supernatural involved.

[He fidgets with his pockets.]

Can I smoke in here or do I have to got outside?

Oh, it's okay to smoke in here. Just not by the sheep.

[There are now five sheep in the room. Where the other three came from is anyone's guess.]

I've just had some bad times. Some of them my own damn fault.

[And some of them not, but this doesn't feel like the time to introduce electroshock treatment into the conversation. He fumbles for a cigarette and lights it.]

Uh, what's up with all the sheep, anyway?

[Curt stares warily at the sheep and backs away. Which is totally just because he's listening to Penny, not because he's intimidated by livestock.]

[The sheep seem to sense Cut's wariness, as their collective attention is focused on him. Don't run or they'll attack!]

Those? It's kind of a long story. Don't worry about them, though... I've been meaning to find a new home for them, so they'll be out of your hair soon. Sheep aren't exactly house-pet material, and Freckles and I already have a dog and a duck between us.

She's my roommate. She--I mean, we don't live here. We have an apartment. Doris and the sheep usually stay there when the Center's busy, but Tiger--that's Freckles' dog--spooks the sheep pretty badly.

[Ah, rambling.]

When you move out? Look for a roommate. The ticking--I don't know if you can hear it right now--gets really loud if you're alone.
