I'm up for it, man. Not like I have anything else pressing to do lately.

Okay, good. We're the biggest band in this city--which, okay, not hard--but I feel like we should be making more money off it.

[Stephen takes a moment to consider this. Personally, he's impressed they're making any money. It's more than Sex Bob-Omb ever managed. But then again, Curt is a real rockstar back home and he's probably used to making a more steady income off this.]

You think we should start looking for some more gigs?

[Curt would indeed like to have to stop taking random jobs like setting up the circus PA system. Having to have real jobs is annoying, and he has a current unfortunate lack of rich lovers.]

What I really think is that we need to have stuff we can sell at shows. T-shirts are easy, but an album would be great, which is really the main thing I wanted to talk to everyone about.

T-shirts would be good, too man. Since we already have the logo. I can see if anyone in the City does silk-screening. Bags seem to be pretty popular at the moment, too, and they're easy enough to have printed.

I was pretty far along recoding one--but that was before you and Campbell joined up so we might want to re-record all that. It was also before I left for a year--a year for me, so I'm not sure how much I'd even want to keep. Unfortunately, we did lose our main source of funding for the album a while ago so that might be a challenge.

But, yeah, we could do bags too, good idea.

There was this thing back home called Bandstocks that small bands could use to raise money for albums. Basically you ask fans to invest in the album - like twenty bucks or something - and then they get the album free when it comes out. It's pretty much like buying the album in advance. A lot of bands I knew did it and it seemed to work. You can do some gimmicks, too, like have an 'investors' newsletter or private shows or something, make the fans feel like their involved.

Either that or a benefit concert, maybe?

Just some ideas, I guess. I don't have too much experience with the money side of things. My friend Joseph was recording our album back home and he did it for free.

Adrian was taking care of all that sort of thing, but he left the City...

The music studio here, the one called the Music Studio, actually isn't necessarily expensive. It's just that the price can be really weird so I'm not sure how well it'll work out.

Like...sometimes the lady takes your shoes. Other times all your dreams for a week. It's kind of interesting but recording somewhere that takes cash has it's advantages.

[Okay, that is a bit weird. But Stephen comes from a world where a major music producer kept all his ex-girlfriends cryogenically frozen in tubes, so it's not too far off from what he's used to.]

At least it's one less business expense to worry about. What else do we need the money for? We can't exactly tour.

We still need money to get all the copies made. We could always use new gear but that's not urgent...and considering our problems finding a regular drummer I think we should hire a session drummer for the album--assuming we can find one somewhere.

Sounds like we should make a budget. It'll let us know what figure we need to aim for.

Okay. I'm not that good with money. I'm sure you're very surprised.

I'm not wonderful with it either, but I usually end up being the one in the band to manage it anyway. I've gotten really awesome at spreadsheets!

Maybe we should have a meeting to talk about what tracks we want to have on the album? And if you have any new ones you want to show us, too.

Yeah, we should definitely have that kind of meeting. I do have some new material, but there's also a few old things that only Demyx has played. Overall, having recently recorded an album that actually went okay, I feel better about this whole thing then I did a few months ago City-time.
