31st Note

So if we started selling t-shirts at Time Bomb shows, who would actually buy one?

[Time Bomb Filter]

We need to have a band meeting soon. Or we can just discuss stuff over the Network if everyone is feeling lazy.

I'm up for it, man. Not like I have anything else pressing to do lately.

[Stephen takes a moment to consider this. Personally, he's impressed they're making any money. It's more than Sex Bob-Omb ever managed. But then again, Curt is a real rockstar back home and he's probably used to making a more steady income off this.]

You think we should start looking for some more gigs?

An album I would be totally down with.

[Ah yeah, recording! Stephen is so much better at that part.]

T-shirts would be good, too man. Since we already have the logo. I can see if anyone in the City does silk-screening. Bags seem to be pretty popular at the moment, too, and they're easy enough to have printed.

There was this thing back home called Bandstocks that small bands could use to raise money for albums. Basically you ask fans to invest in the album - like twenty bucks or something - and then they get the album free when it comes out. It's pretty much like buying the album in advance. A lot of bands I knew did it and it seemed to work. You can do some gimmicks, too, like have an 'investors' newsletter or private shows or something, make the fans feel like their involved.

Either that or a benefit concert, maybe?

Just some ideas, I guess. I don't have too much experience with the money side of things. My friend Joseph was recording our album back home and he did it for free.

Weird in what way?
totallyinaband: (did we suck?)

[personal profile] totallyinaband 2011-05-28 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay, that is a bit weird. But Stephen comes from a world where a major music producer kept all his ex-girlfriends cryogenically frozen in tubes, so it's not too far off from what he's used to.]

At least it's one less business expense to worry about. What else do we need the money for? We can't exactly tour.

Sounds like we should make a budget. It'll let us know what figure we need to aim for.

I'm not wonderful with it either, but I usually end up being the one in the band to manage it anyway. I've gotten really awesome at spreadsheets!

Maybe we should have a meeting to talk about what tracks we want to have on the album? And if you have any new ones you want to show us, too.

In the headspace to rock? Sounds good, man.

[personal profile] totallyinaband 2011-05-29 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Is that generally a problem for you?

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I would so totally buy one and wear it all the time! I love you guys!

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Sweeeeeet.

If you guys ever need, like, any help with... I dunno, stuff, whatever... I'm around.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my god, really?

[Neil looks and sounds like someone's just offered to make him president of the world.]

Yeah, I can totally do that!

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, sure! I'm pretty good with, y'know, equipment and stuff.

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Uh... how much would I have to talk to those people?

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome.

This means I get to go to all of your shows and like, hang out with you guys, right?

[identity profile] illgrowoutofit.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I totally do.

[He grins.]

This is gonna be great. You won't regret it!

[identity profile] dulcisnuntius.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Put me down for a definite yes for a t-shirt!

[identity profile] dulcisnuntius.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Pins, too? I would totally buy about 15 pins.

[identity profile] dulcisnuntius.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:56 am (UTC)(link)

Will anybody even know? If we don't say, I mean? Or does it matter?

Well, I'll rerecord if anyone else cares, but I'm okay. Recording the new stuff and gettin' it out's the important bit.
