Penny! Man, am I glad to see you. And, uh, that was kind of in case there was anyone here reading that who didn't actually want to talk to me.

Why would anyone not want to talk to you? It's great to see you! Or... not so great? Has the City been okay? I heard things have been interesting lately.

Oh! And I brought you a present. Not a big present or anything really incredibly exciting, but I thought you might think it was neat.

The City's been weird, I mean weirder than usual. First there were the harpies, then it started moving around everywhere. Oh, and there was stuff with the clock. But, I went home for a lot of it, so I'm probably even more confused about a lot of it than everybody else.

You're not the first person to bring up harpies. There was something about zombies, too...? At least you got to skip out on some of it. But you still get to go home, so you must be alive, right? And alive is great!

[Well. Being dead is okay, too, but Curt being alive is awesome. Penny hands Curt... a stick. It's a gray, gnarled stick that looks like it might have come off of a particularly scary tree.]

There. That's a branch from Death's tree. ...It's not a magic tree like the tree of Life, but Death really likes it and it's a neat tree. Just... you know. Souvenir from the great beyond.

Yep, definitely alive. I'm getting good at running for cover and I've also managed to keep from making any immediately fatal poor life choices.

Cool. Maybe I'll show it to Demyx. He's dead...although, I dunno if he'd feel reassured or needs reassurance, or whatever. Hard to tell. Anyway, I like it, I will but it somewhere the cat can't get at it.

He's in your band too, right? Demyx? But anyway! I'm glad you like it, and I'm sorry I didn't bring back anything cooler. There's this shop not too far from where I'm working that sells the most awesome clothes--right up your alley kind of clothes--but I haven't figured out how to get anything that big over here.

Yeah...he got killed by a duck, a dog, and a kid, apparently. Anyway, it's all right. I find some pretty good stuff in the City. Although, I do need to figure out what to do about Campbell--he's in the band too, guitar--because lately he's been wearing a really ugly shirt. The ugliest shirt. I mean, for a while I thought it would be okay, 'cause it's so awful I figured maybe it made a statement but now I'm pretty sure the statement is just, "I am a terrible, terrible shirt."

Oh, wow. That's... awful. And kind of an embarrassing way to go. At least I got an explosion.

You can't have a guitarist in an ugly shirt! Does he have a nice body? He could always just forget the shirt.

Apparently there was a fight. I think maybe they mistook him for an evil wizard, but that's just a theory. One of my other theories is that he is an evil wizard, just so bad at it he's not actually evil in any way. I'm pretty sure he's not human, but maybe he's just really, really bad at that also. He's a good guy though.

He's kind of skinny, even compared to me because he's tall, but yeah, he's all right. Also I'm going to teach him how to wear eyeliner. Stephen, the bass player, doesn't have the best style but in his case I think I'll just leave well enough alone.

Demyx isn't an evil wizard. I tried to teach him how to cook once and I'd believe that he's not that great at being whatever it is he's supposed to be, but he's sweet.

Eyeliner, huh? Maybe give the guy a better shirt, then. You don't want to change too much too fast. Sounds like Time Bomb's really coming along, though! Have you guys done any recording?

Uh...Campbell lost his virginity in a cross-dressed bisexual threesome that I had nothing to do with. I don't think he has a too fast. But yeah, band's going well. Going home messed stuff up, and then getting used to the new lineup, but we're going to be recording soon and we really only need a few tracks because I'd done some recording already.

Oh! Oh. Then I guess whatever's okay. Hey, could I maybe get a CD or something from you when you finish one? I think Death would like your kind of music.

Yeah. I think I promised you one before...but what we do have are t-shirts! I suddenly realized we needed things to sell at shows...there are gonna be pins too.

Maybe what you really need is a manager to take care of all the not-playing-music stuff for you.

But t-shirts? Really? You must be doing pretty well in the City. Shirts are a big deal.

That's true enough, and I had one--or more the equivalent, but with how this city is...[He shrugs.]

But yeah, the shirts are cool. We have actual dedicated fans now. It's not bad.

Did they disappear on you? That's rough.

Yeah, Adrian popped off months ago, and he was funding everything. That's part of the reason I'm glad we're making a little money of merch. Stephen's tried to step up and deal with some of the business-y stuff, since he's reasonable responsible and was in a band before, but it doesn't come naturally to him either.

I dunno about rabid, but there are some fangirls. One's an angel and she painted the logo on her wing and it was...one of the most awesome things that's happened in the City, honestly.

Okay, you need to get a picture the next time that happens, because that sounds amazing.

Did you pay her for advertising for you?

I'm not really the picture-taking time. Which is too bad, I could also have gotten a picture of me from that night--I got turned into a lady. Well, a woman. Wasn't really much of a lady.

Teach Demyx how to use a camera?

That sounds like a pretty wild City party. Was it a random curse weekend? I almost miss those.

I know, I'll have Tiny Neil or whatever his name is do that! I told him he could be a roadie, but he's a little small to be super helpful with that.
