Summary; Rain or shine--or total lack of shine--the album release party is going forward.
Log;Curt probably could have managed to throw a larger party, but he didn't really want one, and the half of the bar they've rented out is filling up fast enough as it is. He's gone for his shiny silver pants tonight, because it is a celebration, and a romantically flowing white shirt because that covers up the bandages on his arms. Tonight is a night for many people to get very drunk and listen to the album many times. If there's some use and abuse of newly acquired superpowers along the way, so be it. (It is secretly Curt's birthday too.)

[Curt is making a particular effort to make the rounds and talk to everyone he can. After all, he must have invited most of these people. It's rare he feels this accomplished, and it's a nice feeling.]

[Lucy arrives fairly early. She's dressed for a party (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=38320334) and armed with industrial strength glo-sticks just in case. She sees Curt across the bar and makes a bee line for him, catching him in a hug.]

Rockstar!

[Stephen is sticking to his usual spot at the bar, beer in hand. He is actually enjoying himself (not that he's going to let too many people have the satisfaction of knowing that...). The euphoria of actually having a flipping album released is over-riding his usual anxieties about this sort of thing. And yeah, knowing who is came here with is helping a a little... Stephen catches Curt's eye next time he comes by and points to a drink on the counter he got for him.]

[Curt throws and arm around her, heedless of his relatively recent cuts.]

Hiya, blondie. You look great. As always.

[thewildone]

[Curt pushes his way over to stand next to Stephen and grins at him.]

Thanks. Just what I needed.

[He takes a long swig of beer.]

They're special pants. The first crazy pants I had made for me in the City, just like ones I had back home.

[The bar's crowded and noisy at the moment, so he lets himself lean in a little further to talk to him.]

They suit you, dude. And I couldn't say that about most people.

Pants like these take attitude. And managing to stay skinny.

[Curt leans against him as a natural instinct, and gets started on his drink.]

[Stephen lets grabs for his beer, and lets his free hand move to rest on Curt's hip. It's not his fault Curt decided on wearing shiny pants that need to be touched.]

No wonder they work, then.

[Yes. Clearly the right pants. He notices Stephen's hand, but tries to pretend like that's not out of the ordinary at all. He looks around the room.]

Today is a good day.

Yeah, man. Album and everything. Feels good.

Yeah. I feel like...everything's kinda going better than expected.

[You noticed that, huh? Things going well is a bit odd for him, too...]

Well, in the bigger picture sense I definitely wasn't expecting to end up here.

[He waves his hand around indicating the City in general.]

And then I guess I spent a lot of time here thinking I wouldn't be around long enough to accomplish anything. After a while though...I realized here I had a chance to do things a little differently. Not change, exactly, but just kind of escape some of the baggage of being me.

[Stephen takes a moment to think about that. He gets that. It's true he also spent months just waiting to get sent home again. Yeah, he had the band, but it just felt like a stop-gap. Something to do to fill the time. But now... well Time Bomb is going better than Sex Bob-Om ever did. He's made up with Neil in a way he'd probably have never got the chance to back home. And well... back home he's still desperately camping out in the back of his closet, whereas here... instead of saying all that, though, he just hooks his fingers a little tighter into Curt's belt loop and smiles at him.]

That's good, man. I'm happy for you.

[Demyx is having his usual One Drink in addition to his usual One Annoyed Bartender Stare. Unlike usual, however, they have an album! Which is a really good thing for some reason. It is really cool, though. Due to this unique entertainment, Demyx is pretty much just by the speakers getting excited at certain parts. When the sitar is particularly more audible even tiniest bit, he starts shouting so to anyone who'll listen.]

Hey- Hey there's like a measure of really loud sitar here!

Also, it's my birthday. I mean, my actual age is kind of different with time stuff so it kind of isn't. But it isn't. I don't want everyone to know, but I guess I still kind of wanted a party, though.

[Curt finds Demyx's excitement kind of hilarious.]
